Cubic Zirconia
Appearance: Cubic Zirconia is transparent, often faceted and reflective. Cubic Zirconia is close visually to a diamond. It often is colorless, or can be a variety of colors.
Facts: Cubic Zirconia is known as CZ. CZ is a synthesized (man-made gemstone) The zirconium is an oxide of the metallic element-crystalline form of zirconium dioxide. Different oxides can be added to make the variety of colors.
Cubic Zirconia is the most popular diamond substitute, although heavier, softer, and more affordable than a diamond.
The first cubic zirconium was created in Russia. Commercial production started in the late 1970’s.
