Appearance:  Agate has a waxy and soft appearance. It is translucent and occasionally transparent.  Botswana, Fire, and Moss are three types of agates.

Agates have a wide range of interesting colors and patterns.  Agates are found in brown, white, gray, pink, black and yellow.   The colors and patterns occur in a diversity of alternating bands within the agate caused by groundwater composition in cavities of igneous rock.
