Origin:  Morganite was first discovered in Madagascar in 1910 and was named after the financier J.P. Morgan, who was a notable gem enthusiast and collector. It is primarily sourced from Madagascar, but significant deposits have also been found in Brazil, the United States (especially California), and Afghanistan. The gemstone is part of the beryl family, which includes other well-known stones like emerald and aquamarine.
