Appearance: Lapis lazuli is a deep-blue, opaque stone often speckled with gold-colored pyrite and sometimes streaked with white calcite. It has a smooth texture and can be polished to a glossy finish. The finest lapis lazuli exhibits a uniform, intense blue color with minimal inclusions.
